The next day, after we’ve enjoyed pizza, the oven is usually down to a temperature low enough to be perfect for baking bread. So this morning I baked two batches of baguettes and one of Italian loaves, just to fill the freezer. I think, though, I’ll be taking tomorrow off from baking. It’s becoming insufferably hot here on the island again – at least for me – and the cats seem to be the only sensible members of this household, just sleeping through it. I might need to follow their example.
