Thanks for your kind comments and memories. We had a great turnout for dad's party and I know he was there rooting on the party.

He had a rough ride in the end but fortunately we got him home for a week to say goodbye to his friends and his beloved Roundhouse before he relinquished his body and evaporated into the ethereal.

He visited me in a dream and I asked how it is on the other side. He said it is very boring but thanfully not very hot. Ha ha. Sounds like something he would say.

He is missed sorely.

Mariann Palmborg
was a dear dear friend we visited her in Bequia and had 2 wonderful Christmas staying there.
But each year she would stay with me in London on her route from Norway to Bequia and on her return. I always looked forward to her visits as the swallows arrive in the spring she would arrive with luggage large and small, once a set of shock absorbers for her ancient landrover. I think the cab driver nearly died getting them up our front steps.

She was always so full of life and plans for her school, animals, music concerts, her few days in London were packed with meetings, concerts and friends. I too feel privledged to have known her, she also always phoned me on my birthday.

So it gave me great pleasure to call her when I was in southern Sweden mid point on a sailing trip from Helsinki to the UK in summer 07.

Dear Mariann you will always be with us all your friends around the world.

Susan,
Thank you so much for your blog and the update on Bequia and hurricane Felix. Am always concerned about my favorite island. Found your blog on my google search for the effects of Felix on Bequia and Grenada. My Father's remains are on the island as he wished.
All the best,
Nancy Fedon

Hi,

Why haven't our paths crossed? I have lived in the Caribbean for aout 20 years (married to an Antiguan who is connected to the Simmons of De Reef) and consider myself a Bequian as I will be living there permanently within two years.

I am a bit of an activist and when I am in Bequia I volunteer at the Hospital and Paget Farm clinic and also have substituted at PF Government School. I am a certified secondary level teacher and an RN who is currently working on her Masters in Family Practice.

All the best,

Deb Simon
