Today on Bequia – Tropical Storm Chantal

Here are two videos I shot today during the passing over Bequia of Tropical Storm Chantal. Not a lot of wind, but buckets-full of rain!

This is the first one, and the second features a brief walk-on at the end by Emme.

For the most part, the cats slept through it all.

And here’s what it looks like this evening, after the storm. The hammock is a bit waterlogged, and Emme is still a ham for the camera.

  1. […] While I was safe in my apartment, I did experience a few heart-stopping moments. But at the end of the day, God is good and all is well.  It seems that the storm passed without incident on islands further south, including tiny Bequia in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.  You can read friend and Canadian author Susan Toy’s report and view her videos of Chantal here.  […]

  2. We have no name for the storm that fractured Toronto…did you see the GO train rescue? am betting you did…still no power here in many areas. I’ve said it a hundred times, “Mother Nature’s going through menopause and she’s pissed off”. Keep your powder dry! xoxoxo

    1. I think they did name the Toronto storm – It being called, WTF???? I did see the GO Train rescue, as well as photos of snakes that made their way into the car along with the water! And here we just had a little bit of rain in comparison. And a pantry stocked with rum … :)

  3. Is this the rain that flooded Toronto?

    1. Not unless that storm somehow swung around and travelled 3000 miles to the Caribbean! This happened today on Bequia. We got a lot of rain in a very short time, but I don’t think it was anywhere near what fell on Toronto.

  4. I daresay Dominica got knocked about a little more than Bequia. My cat was not quite so relaxed. I’ll tell you why in a forthcoming post on Ti Domnik Tales. Glad you are okay. I am too, but have yet to hear about what happened in other parts of the Nature Isle.

    1. Sorry to hear that, Gwen. I think we were on the south edge of the storm’s centre. Hope all is well there.
