End of Week 1 - NaNoWriMo

Posted in NaNoWriMo at 7:41 am by islandeditions

Today marks the 8th day into National Novel Writing Month, and I’m feeling GOOD! I’ve already written the Prologue and first three chapters of my proposed novel, Forever Friends for a total word count so far of 17170 out of the 50,000 necessary to complete this by the end of the month. And my writing buddies, mennogirl and quilldriver, aren’t too far behind me. I have the complete plot of my novel figured out (ie. I know whodunnit and why - most important…) and have been fine-tuning the characters and all the little details of what happens to them. I’ve even written the final paragraph already so I know exactly where this baby is going. When I’m not writing, I’m constantly thinking about my characters and more plot developments, and other business. It’s exhilerating! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all writing flowed out as this one seems to be doing for me? It’s like a gift. I just wish I had someone who could look after the house, cooking, shopping, and all the other things that I have to take time out from writing to do, so I could spend every minute working on this. Oh, for a personal assistant! Dennis has been understanding and supportive, but even he has his limits.

You can check my progress here.
