First, a swim…
How to relax while writing for NaNoWriMo, Bequia style? Take an early morning swim…
… in the new pool!
The perfect beginning to the day, giving me a much-needed kick-start before I sit down to start another bout of frantic scribbling, or actually keyboard tapping. That and several cups of coffee. And where did I put the chocolate???
After two days, my word count is already at an impressive 3744 - impressive because I’m still ahead of my two writing buddies and haven’t lost steam, or the storyline, yet.

Yes, but your writing buddies aren’t far behind
Now stop distracting me!

You are now… total after I posted what I wrote today - 6039! Read the numbers and weep, mennogirl!

Those don’t count yet. Not until my writing day’s done, my computer-thumping early bird in a time zone three (about to be four) hours ahead of me! Midnight, baby. That’s when all things become equal.

Not fair! Tonight you gain an extra hour to doodle if you’re going to pull that midnight rule on me! I say the deadline each day is whenever we get the words written and post…

Ha! You’re right. I do have an extra hour. But as for that nonsense about deadlines being whenever we post word counts, think again, my dear WriMo mate. Aught there not be a global equalizing factor? Midnights around the time zones. Or, at least, when we three (Hi Vicky!) have each posted. Now, really, stop distracting me or my bonus hour will be wasted!!!

Heh, heh, heh! That’s the point - to distract you. Can’t have you racing ahead of me now, in the word count dept. The next thing I know you’ll be pulling all kinds of metaphors out of your deep pockets in order to pad that story and breeze past me on the last day of writing…

Slow and steady, baby, slow and steady.
